I AM MY MOTHER'S DAUGHTER

Weird title to a blogpost aye? I know!!!
This line was runnin in my head a few weeks ago n I decided to write something on it.
If you're a babe, chick, lady, woman, sisi etc, then I'm pretty sure there's been times when you just go like
'Oh my Lawd, is this woman I call my mother really my mother? Why doesn't she get me? Why doesn't she understand the stuff about me she's supposed to?'

Well this was how I used to feel. I used to think that I was so not like my mother, that she was too this & too that etc, then one faithful evening, whilst my mum & I were watchin TV, I saw myself in her & all of a sudden it came to me..
We laughed alike
We acted the same
We joked the same way
We both didn't know how to hide our feelings
We both were die-hard romantics
We both sniggered at the same things
After all is said & done I am my mother's daughter & she is her daughter's mother.

So you ask me, what's the essence of this seemingly abstract post? Simply put, we all mirror our parents of the same sex as us. As hard as we try to run or shy away from this fact, the more like & attached 2 'em we become.

Bleeding heart!

My heart bleeds each time I read about Jos n her several bouts of clashes/fighting. It pains me to see that its the so-called future leaders, the youths, who are actually wielding guns n ammo, killing fellow nigerians, all in d name of religious intolerance. Ignorance kills, literally. For how long will our youths suffer the pangs n pains of ignorance? It hurts to even think about it.

In d mean time my heart goes out to all my brothers n sisters in Jos, I pray dis senseless killing n destruction ends in d shortest time.

A girl’s first time

So I finally decided to post my first blog post today, after about 6 months of creating a blog (talk about procrastination). So the big issue remains-what do I talk or write about. Well since this is my first official post (excuse my anxiety) let me introduce myself to you.

My name is Eno-Mfon Efiong, I like to add ‘Gift’ as my middle name, but the truth remains that I don’t have one. All my peeps call me Eno. I’m 20 years old, an undergraduate of Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria. I’m a Biochemistry major a course I actually am not crazy about, but what then shall I then do, it’s the JAMB saga every Nigerian secondary school graduate experiences. Meehhn blogging is hard. What’s next? Let’s see, me is a cool chick, a bit playful, a lil troublesome, a bigot of some sorts, but I keep an open mind when I can.

I intend to blog about everything and anything and nothing (sometimes). As I write I’m listening to Westlife and the song that gets to me the most is ‘dreams come true’. I’m an ardent believer in the seeing what u want to see in other words I believe in dreams n I have some pretty big dreams. More on that later.

For now, let’s do with the fact that I’m a simple down-to-earth babe, still maintaining a low profile chilling in my cocoon. Watch out world, a beautiful butterfly is bursting out sooner than u expected. Toodles y’all. {PS; excuse my scattered thoughts, I’m new at this, it’s my first time after all, don’t expect me to write like a pro}. LOL

XOXO

Miss E
